La obra del escultor José Campeny en “La Ilustración Artística” de Barcelona

In this article we analyzed the work of the Catalan sculptor José Campeny through the graphical magazine “La Ilustración Artística”, of Barcelona, in the last third of century XIX, and beginnings of the XX, its artistic production constituted a newness and a success that was refl ected faithfully in the press of the time, being faithful east artist to “the realistic” style and the “modernism”, cultivating new and varied sculptural subjects, that they go from the romantic, passing through the mythological and animalistic.En este artículo analizamos la obra del escultor catalán José Campeny a través de la revista gráfi ca “La Ilustración Artística”, de Barcelona, en el último tercio del siglo XIX, y comienzos del XX, su producción artística constituyó una novedad y un éxito que se reflejó fi elmente en la prensa de la época, siendo fi el este artista al estilo “realista” y al “modernismo”, cultivando nuevos y variados temas escultóricos, que van desde lo romántico, pasando por lo mitológico y animalístico
